A note from Shuntele:
I am a single mother of 3 young men (ages 20, 7, 3 months) and foster parent to endless children of all ages with many different behaviors and life histories. I have previously worked as a pharmacy technician for 18yrs and have also done in-home health care And worked at a daycare part-time.
Have been a parent cafe host for about 2/3 years.
Have had training in life coaching, parent building skills, child behaviors, therapeutic redirection, and special needs children/adults.
I enjoy being around positive uplifting people but understanding because we all have our days, which is one of the main reasons I’m creating this virtual outlet for parents. With everything going on in the world, you can never have enough positive relationships to help you through the day-to-day.
My goal is to have a nice gathering where we can hopefully take something new from each virtual meeting that can be used in our everyday life. By no means is this a counseling group, but we definitely are a great support system of networking parents.
Shuntele was trained through CCRC’s past Parent Café program and OberlinKids’ is excited to have her offer this virtually in our community. We hope all the OberlinKids’ parents and guardians out there can join her.
