Lorain County Children & Families First Council

The Lorain County Children and Families First Council (CFFC) is a partnership of state and local government, communities, and families working together to enhance the well-being of children and families throughout Lorain County.

CFFC works to:

• Build community capacity to better meet the needs of children and families
• Coordinate systems, programs, and services
• Strengthen collaboration among families, organizations, and service providers
• Engage families in decisions that affect their children
• Connect families with appropriate resources and supports
• Promote the overall well-being of children and families throughout Lorain County

CFFC Services

Service Coordination

• Family-focused and strengths-based
• Designed for families with multiple or complex needs
• Coordinates services to reduce duplication and improve communication
• Brings together traditional services and natural supports
• Helps families develop an individualized process based on their needs

Wraparound

• Intensive, team-based, individualized care planning
• Brings together the people who support the child and family
• Follows a structured process centered on family input
• Develops a plan that reflects the family’s needs, hopes, and dreams
• Encourages families to take an active role in planning and decision-making

Consultation

• Available to Community Partners and families
• Provides an opportunity to discuss available resources and services
• Helps identify supports that may address a family’s needs
• Can assist when families or providers are unsure where to turn for additional support
