What is Lorain County Imagination Library?
Lorain County Imagination Library is an affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which is available in many places across the United States.
Lorain County Imagination Library's mission is to foster a lifetime love of reading, empower families, and increase kindergarten readiness to build a strong foundation for a community of children who view themselves as confident readers and writers in Lorain County.
Who is eligible?
All children birth through age five living in Lorain County (and most of Ohio) can receive a free book mailed to their home each month.
Important to know:
It takes 8-12 weeks to begin receiving books after registering or updating your address
Your child will receive their last book the month of their 5th birthday
Children who are within 4 months of their 5th birthday cannot be registered
Books are available in English or Spanish

If you need to update your address, switch to Spanish books, or check your registration status, you have two options:

Moving?
Keep your books coming! Update your address online through the Parent Area or contact us directly. Remember, it takes 6-8 weeks for address changes to take effect.
Please note: Books sent from the Imagination Library cannot be forwarded to your new address through the post office. Undeliverable books are destroyed, so keeping your address current is important!

62% of Ohio’s children (birth to age five) are currently participating in Ohio’s Imagination Library. The map shows the percentage of children in each county who received a book in December 2024.
