Maternal Recovery Support

Your health matters just as much as your baby’s. Postpartum complications, like high blood pressure, can develop before your 6-week postpartum checkup. Family Connects Ohio offers a FREE at-home nurse visit to help you feel supported, confident, and connected in those first weeks after birth.

During a visit, a caring registered nurse can:

-Check your physical health, including blood pressure, and monitor for postpartum complications

-Check in on your emotional well-being, including signs of postpartum depression, and connect you with local providers if needed

-Offer tips for healing after birth and caring for yourself

-Listen, answer questions, and provide support without judgment

Available to all Lorain County families with newborns. Recommended at 2-5 weeks postpartum, available up to 12 weeks.
