Summer Safety Reminders

With summer break underway and more families spending time outdoors, now is a great time to review a few simple safety tips

  • Kids can become dehydrated faster than adults, especially during sports and outdoor play. Encourage water breaks throughout the day.

  • Never leave a child unattended in a vehicle. Temperatures inside a parked car can rise rapidly, even on mild days.

  • Drowning is often silent and can happen in seconds. Always maintain active supervision around water.

  • Sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher can help protect against harmful UV rays. Remember to reapply every two hours.

  • A properly fitted helmet can help prevent serious injuries while biking, skating, or riding scooters.

A safe summer starts with a few simple precautions. We hope your family enjoys a healthy, fun-filled season from all of us at Lorain County Health & Dentistry
