LCH&D: October is Health Literacy Month

Have you ever left a doctor's appointment and realized you forgot to ask something? Or nodded along even though you weren't quite sure what something meant? 𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲!

October is Health Literacy Month, and we're reminding our patients that 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘴𝘬 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴!

What does my diagnosis mean?

How should I take this medication?

What do my test results mean?

What can I do to improve my health?

Understanding your health is an important part of taking care of it. At LCH&D, we want our patients to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns, and being involved in decisions about their care.

Have you joined our Patient Portal yet? It's another way to stay informed! Review test results, access health records, and securely message your provider. Not enrolled? Stop by our front desk and ask for an invitation to get started!

And we're not stopping there! Keep an eye out for new educational screens coming to our health centers, bringing helpful health information right to our patients.
