Motor Skills Play Date with Rising Titans and Lorain With Littles

Get ready to PLAY, MOVE, and GROW!

Our sister collaborative, Rising Titans, is excited to partner with Lorain with Littles for May Motor Skills Play Date

This hands-on play date is all about helping your littles build important fine & gross motor skills through fun, engaging, play-based activities, because learning happens best when kids don’t even realize they’re doing it

From movement-based play to interactive stations, this is the perfect chance for your child to explore, build confidence, and connect with others in a supportive environment.

As always, you can expect a fun-filled experience with opportunities for connection, learning, and community with other local families

Music Therapy & More

Families are invited to participate in Music Therapy & More on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Oberlin Public Library. The session will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will provide children and caregivers with an engaging opportunity to explore music, movement, and interactive activities in a supportive environment.

The program is designed to encourage connection, creativity, and developmental growth through music-based experiences that are fun and inclusive for young children and families. Participants can register online at connectingforkids.org/music.

Public Works Open House

The City of Oberlin is inviting residents to celebrate National Public Works Week at the Public Works Open House on Saturday, May 16, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at the General Maintenance Division Service Complex located at 538 Hill Creek Drive and is free and open to the public.

Families will have the opportunity to meet the city employees who help keep Oberlin running through services including water and stormwater treatment, wastewater management, public buildings, parks and grounds, solid waste and recycling, fleet management, and street maintenance. The event will feature a community cookout, equipment demonstrations, and informational displays about city services, utility systems, recycling programs, street safety, and city parks.

Children and families can also enjoy a variety of hands-on activities including Touch-A-Truck, painting a plow, face painting, photo opportunities, and recycled craft activities. In addition, plant tours will be available at the Water Treatment Plant on Parsons Road and the Water Environment Protection Facility on State Route 511. Transportation to tour sites will not be provided.

From Plate to Power: Celebrating Women’s Health Month

Circles of Connections is hosting “From Plate to Power,” a special event celebrating Women’s Health Month for pregnant moms and caregivers with children ages 0–12 months, while older children are also welcome to attend. The event will take place on May 29 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Lorain Public Library, located at 351 West 6th Street in Lorain.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about healthy eating, connect with community resources, and enjoy a provided lunch. Families who attend will also receive a free case of diapers.

The event is presented in partnership with Catholic Charities Home Visiting Program and Lorain County Public Health to support the health and well-being of local families and caregivers.
