Challenges Faced in Community

36% of kids in Oberlin do not meet all of the benchmarks to be prepared for kindergarten

70% of children living in Oberlin School District are economically disadvantaged


Where We Were

73% percent of the eligible population is enrolled in OberlinKids

4 of 13 Oberlin ranked 10th out of 13 Lorain County districts in the 2014-15 school year with 39.1% of children showing kindergarten readiness. Most recently, Oberlin ranked 4th in the county with 63.9% for the 2018-2019 school year.


What We Are Doing

84% percent of the eligible population is enrolled in OberlinKids

305 screenings completed on newly Introduced online screening tool for social-emotional and developmental screenings on the OberlinKids website


Where We Are Going

Increasing family engagement from home by providing families with creative and play-based learning opportunities using common items.

Providing remote assistance to families and working to expand reach through additional online methods.
