Overview:

OhioGuidestone offers Maternal Peer Support for mothers experiencing maternal depression, anxiety, or mood disorders during or after pregnancy. The program provides compassionate guidance from trained peer supporters who have personally experienced postpartum or perinatal depression and recovery.

What Maternal Peer Supporters Do:

  • Share lived experience to offer hope and model recovery

  • Provide emotional and recovery support through trusted relationships

  • Help set personal goals for a meaningful life

  • Connect mothers with community resources

  • Encourage bonding and healthy attachment with their child

  • Foster a sense of belonging in local and recovery communities
